Day 2 Outline

  • Photography is paramount in your career to develop yourself and clinical skills. Record your gold standard bonding protocol, workflow documentation made simple by day 1 content. This is the stepping stone of improving the practical aspect of your clinical dentistry.

  • Throughout this day, there will be 2 components to this, learning now to produce consistent photographic record keeping. This is based on accreditation photography guidelines.

  • Part 2 of the day is learning how to cost effectively and time efficiently produce the ideal frame after pro-production global editing.

Taking photos is not just for case submission or for medical reports. For orthodontics, aesthetic zone lab communication, it is absolutely imperative that these are carried out to a good standard.

We will cover how to take photos, position of the patient, position of the clinician, and also position and manipulation of mirrors, retractors and other accessories.

Post Production Global Editing

At TDC, we only advocate global editing ie. cropping, straightening/rotating, brightening etc. to produce the ideal frame for workflow documentation or layout consistency in record keeping ie. for orthodontic photo records.

The following gallery is just a sample of what we do on a daily basis, and we will go through with you how you can create consistency like this.

A simple direct composite • I think in general people who do not dam finds it is a faff if the caries is deep, sheet gets in the way, splitting the dam with bur, needing to replace it, sheet getting in between the matrix and the base… etc
Lateralisation of canines and levelling off incisal edges • Freehand direct mock-up prior to treatment to allow patient to visualise, occlusion and envelope of function to be checked, and a stent to be made for the actual treatment. • White
